How it works
How Ekimeet works
Ekimeet works inside real events. Here is what happens for the people who come, and for the people who host.
For attendees
Everything works in your phone's browser, and it is free, always.
Scan the code
Scan the QR code on the poster or your badge, or type the event code. It opens in your browser; there is no app to install. Sign in with ORCID, GitHub, Google or a code by email.
Check your card
Your card fills itself from the papers and repositories of the accounts you signed in with. Check it, add your topics, and choose who can see it.
See a few people each day
Each day of the event you get a short list of people, up to ten, each with a reason you can read, like “You both work on VR training”. Say yes, pass or later. People you pass on don't come back at that event.
Talk when you both say yes
A chat opens only when you have both said yes, or when you scan someone's card and they accept. Nobody else can message you.
Meet in a break
Propose a time in a programme break and a place to meet. Join a jam team or a table if the event has them.
Keep your people
After the event, the people you met stay in your network with where you met. Write private notes, set follow-up reminders, and look at jobs and coffee chats when you are ready.
For organizers
Free for your attendees, always. You decide who joins, and how people stay safe.
Create the event
Choose the kind (conference, jam, seminar, meetup and more), the dates and the place. A person checks a new organization before its first event goes live.
Name a safety contact
An event can't be published without a safety contact: someone from your team whom attendees can reach for help. Then choose how people join: with a join code, by asking to join, from an invite list, or by invitation only.
Share the code
Put the QR code on posters and slides, send the link, and print name badges. The venue screen shows the code and what's on next, like a departures board.
Check people in at the door
In door mode, scan each guest's ticket: one tap, with undo. Add helpers for this event only: a co-organizer, a door team member or a moderator.
Send announcements
Reach everyone at the event with announcements. For the important ones, ask people to tap “Got it” so you know the message landed.
Handle reports
Reports come to your queue with what happened. Every decision needs a reason, and the person it is about hears why and can appeal. You see counts, never who matched whom, and never private messages.
