Community rules
Short, because they are enforced. Shown to everyone who joins an event.
- 1
Both say yes
You only meet, message or exchange details with someone when you both opted in. A pass is final for that event. Do not try to reach people outside the app who passed on you.
- 2
Real people, real work
Use your own name and your own output. No fake profiles, no impersonating a lab, a company or another person. Verification through ORCID, GitHub or an institutional email is how we keep this true.
- 3
Professional, always
No harassment, threats, slurs, unwanted romantic or sexual advances, or spam and selling. This applies in chat, on cards, in posts and at the venue.
- 4
Events have a safety contact
Every event names a person who handles reports during it. Reports are reviewed by people, usually within hours during events. Blocking is immediate and mutual.
- 5
Your data is yours
Export or delete everything from the Me page. Nobody buys reach or rank here; nothing is scored for vanity.
- 6
What happens when rules break
Reports are reviewed by humans and every decision carries a written reason. Outcomes are: dismissed, a warning, content removed, removal from an event, or the account suspended. You are told what happened, who decided and under which rule, and you can appeal once to the Ekimeet team. Whoever reported it hears that it was reviewed, never what happened to you. Content reported for harassment or safety by two different people is hidden until review; nothing is punished automatically.
These rules sit alongside the privacy notice and apply to attendees, organizers and the Ekimeet team alike.
